This is probably a case where 3rd party apps are the better route to go like Things or Fantastical: That simplifies things because they don't have to make a cross-app communication system maintaining privacy. Microsoft adds reminders as part of their other products, it could just be another panel in the Calendar app instead of a separate app. Microsoft's Exchange products are more integrated and can be linked to Reminders and Calendar but the functionality to add reminders to the calendar isn't there and they have sync/refresh issues between devices. It would be useful to have them more integrated. It makes sense to me that these could just appear in Calendar-as a reminder-for the given date/time. Sometimes-not always-these have a date and/or time. Reminders is a great place to manage.well reminders. However, it seems they "forgot" to integrate Reminders (that have a date or time) with Calendar. Apple has come a long way with both Calendar and Reminders.
